Reno Contracting is excited to announce the completion of two exciting projects at SDSU!
The renovation of the Open Air Theater increases the concourse area by 2,400 square feet. The concessions facilities have been relocated to the south side of the property, providing the entire north edge of the concourse with unobstructed views into the bowl. Restroom facilities have been greatly expanded and modernized with the addition of two pavilions. Multiple doorways and access points across the concourse areas reduce congestion caused by queuing patrons. The concessions pavilion attracts more concert-goers with large window openings and transaction stations. An expanded stage lighting platform sits atop the concessions building to achieve site lines over the concourse area. Designed in the Mission Revival style, the Concourse opens up to campus to draw people to concerts and events. Detail elements used include arched openings, Spanish clay tile, ornamental ironwork and drought-tolerant landscaping. A new arched main entry portal on the southwest portal complements the eastern portal and provides additional access into the facility.
The Design-Build tenant improvement project to renovate approximately 6,523 SF in the Professional Studies and Fine Arts (PFSA) building from a reading room/open office space into the Confucius Institute. The renovated space includes exhibit areas and a meeting room. The exhibit spaces are designed to be an open plan for flexible reconfiguration of existing circulation space into fire rate corridor, storage catering kitchenette and single accommodation toilet rooms for the Confucius Institute. The total project area is approximately 6,523 SF. Additionally, approximately 3,364 SF of the site was renovated to provide exterior entry plaza with dedicated and accessible entrance to the Confucius Institute.
