A recent report by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory concludes that 200,000 GW of solar power could be installed in the US. The study considered five different types of renewable energy generating technologies – solar energy (photovoltaic, concentrated solar power), wind power, biopower, geothermal energy and hydropower. Interestingly various states have the greatest potential for different categories, including Texas, California and Hawaii.
